You Are Here: Home - Latest Buzz - Yash Chopra collaborates with Rahman for the first time, for a Shahrukh Khan starrer.

AR Rahman has worked on some of the best projects in India and abroad, but there was one filmmaker he never worked with in his 20-year career – Yash Chopra! Finally, the jinx has broken and soon Rahman will compose for Yash Raj Films’ next directed by Yash Chopra with Shahrukh Khan in the lead. This also means that Rahman will compose for a Shahrukh film after almost a decade. The last time the two got together was for Swades in 2004. Earlier, the two were supposed to collaborate for SRK’s home production Om Shanti Om, but according to the buzz, the deal didn’t work out due to some copyright issues between the two. In the meanwhile the composer was busy working on the music of several Aamir Khan films including Mangal Pandey- The Rising, Rang De Basanti and Ghajini. Finally, SRK will get the composer to work on one of his films.
Chopra said, “I am starting work on the music of my as yet untitled film with the very talented Rahman. Apart from the great honour that he has consistently brought to our country, he is also someone that has created some outstanding and memorable music, something which is very important and dear to me and my films. I am looking forward to creating some wonderful music combining Rahman’s contemporary world music sensibilities and my old world sensibilities of lilting melodies.”
“Everyone knows that when I make a movie, Shahrukh will be involved with it. He is like family to YRF and I have always regarded him as one of my own. There will be two leading ladies in my film. Once Adi gives me the final draft of the script, I will finalise the two girls who will be cast along with Shahrukh,” he adds.  So let’s see if Rahman can recreate his magic for SRK and Yash Chopra!
